Service-Wide Committee on Occupational Health and Safety

Since the coming into force of the Work Place Harassment and Violence Prevention Regulations (WPHVPR) on January 1, 2021, the Service-Wide Committee on Occupational Health and Safety (SWOHS) has monitored its implementation process. During this period of realignment, SWOHS has noted some additional guidance needs in many departments and agencies and has tasked its sub-committees to further define and clarify roles within the new process.

To this end, SWOHS is pleased to provide open access to the following resources:

Investigator Qualification Assessment Tool

This tool aims to assist departments with assessing qualifications of investigators prior to selecting them to conduct their workplace investigation (as per the WPHVPR).

Statement of Work for Investigators Template

The Statement of Work is a template for departmental use after selecting an investigator and is to be read and signed by the investigator and the employer prior to conducting the investigation.

Domestic Violence Tool

This tool clarifies the roles and responsibilities of all parties in a situation where violence in a domestic situation impacts the workplace, including suggested policy language, do’s and don’ts, a sample individual safety plan as well as some useful checklists.

Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Training Module Templates

These templates are available to ensure that each department / agency has the ability to meet their obligations to provide updated OHS training to all employees.
