The Occupational Health and Safety Committee reviews and makes recommendations on present and proposed Public Service policies and standards on occupational safety and health and other directly related subjects.
This Committee reviews the Uniforms Directive, the Directive on First Aid to the General Public - Allowance for Employees and the Occupational Health and Safety Directive and hears final level grievances on these authorities, when required by the Executive Committee.

Regular Activities
- The Committee has met once (1) since the last Council meeting.
- The Committee wishes to note the departure of an Employer Side representative, Marc Gosselin, from the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat (TBS) and to thank them for their contributions to the Committee.
- The Committee welcomed a new Employer Side representative, Gilbert Grandmaison, from TBS.
- The Committee reviewed and amended Appendix A – Humidex Table and Appendix D – Cafeteria Inspection Guideline of the OHS Directive to meet accessibility formatting guidelines. It also corrected outdated links in Appendix C – Inspection Authorities. The amended appendices were approved by the Executive Committee and will soon be posted on the NJC website.
