The Executive Committee of the National Joint Council agreed to revise the Kilometric Rates effective January 1, 2002. It was also agreed that quarterly review of gas prices was no longer required and that the Government Travel Committee would proceed with annual reviews. However, the Government Travel Committee was directed to review the rates in 6 months to determine if exceptional circumstances require an increase. It should be noted that rates would not be lowered at the 6 month review. (http://www.tbs-sct.gc.ca)
