POLICY NOTICE
To ensure more comprehensive and user friendly Directives, the Foreign Service Directives Committee has completed an administrative review of the Instructions and Guidelines of the Directives. A total of 520 instructions and guidelines were reviewed resulting in 246 deletions, 274 incorporations or movements in part or in whole of these instructions and guidelines into the actual Directives.
While there has been no addition of sections, subsections may have been added resulting in minor renumbering of some of the subsections of the Directives. In addition, to meet with the Treasury Board Policy Common Look and Feel 2.0 Standards and Guidelines http://www.tbs-sct.gc.ca/clf2-nsi2/index-eng.asp, one Appendix has been added under FSD 15, Appendix M. Furthermore, the definitions for Post kilometric (mileage) rate and Lower kilometric/mileage rate have been moved from FSD 15 and 30 to FSD 2. Please note that the definition of Post kilometric (mileage) rate has now been renamed Kilometric/mileage rate.
In no circumstances have the substantive sections of the Directives been modified. Furthermore, please note that this review will not impact, delay or change the normal cyclical review process.
The implementation date of the reviewed Directives is April 1, 2013.
